My Story
Hello, my name is Sofía Mendoza, a Mexican immigrant transgender woman, proudly from Chiapas.
I am a woman who likes to learn and empower herself, and take advantage of every opportunity that God and destiny put in my path.
In November 2022, I began participating as a member and volunteer with Hope TGNC Latinx.
On March 30, 2024, I was crowned as Miss. Hope TGNC Latinx 2024 of the association.
Since the date of my coronation, I have become more committed to participating as an activist, helping my sisters and
brothers in the LGBT community, and offering a space in my home to more than 70 people where they could safely stay.
I have contributed ideas on how to organize outreach, events, actions, and fundraising.
Throughout the process of my coronation, I have committed to doing everything necessary to help our immigrant transgender community.
For all my work, Hope TGNC Latinx has allowed me to be part of the board and work team.
My goal is to support my transgender sisters with love and passion and learn more about my community.
